Project Area Adoption, Merger & Amendment

Since its inception, A.C. Lazzaretto & Associates has focused on all stages of redevelopment. Some of the most frequent and rewarding experiences have included project area adoption, merger, and amendment activities. While many legal requirements have been modified since the adoption of AB 1290 in 1994, our experience makes it possible to simplify the complicated process.

Our familiarity with the law enables us to produce required documents and reports without wasting valuable time and funds on learning standard requirements and drafting routine documentation. In an effort to simplify the process, for each project, we produce an easy to read schedule of completion identifying key dates and actions. This makes it possible for staff to accurately plan for meetings and agenda items as well as produces a simple history of when specific actions were taken. In addition, the schedule of completion identifies all associated Code reference numbers so that interested persons may read the specific legal requirements.

Most importantly, we realize that project area adoption, merger, and amendment can be a volatile issue in a community. We make ever effort to reach out to the interested public to provide factual, easy to understand information. These efforts typically include public information meetings and notifications beyond those required by law and the creation of summary documents which are much easier to understand than the legal documents required by the Code.
